Before the journey begins....

Today is January 26, 2014 and we are still in the USA, we were suppose to be in the UAE the last week of December.  I was a bit stressed and a little embarrassed (to say the least) when I found out that our flights and visas were delayed. My husband and I resigned from our teaching positions, faced opposition, but after praying together we knew this was the road we were suppose to take. So... we now sit at his mother's house (yeahhhhh) and constantly check our emails, homeschool our children and try to spend as much time with family as possible.  I know that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord so I am resolved at knowing that this waiting process has a purpose. (Our direction for 2014 is guided by God in one simple word- purpose).

Ok, maybe I should jump back a bit and let you know the journey thus far.

Well, sometime this past summer my dear friend, Natasha (yes, I just put you out there) sent me an email about a teaching position oversees.  She knows it has looooong been my desire to work abroad.  For several years now (at least 3) I have applied to several different agencies to no avail.  So the email made me think, "here I go again on a wild goose chase", but I applied anyway- lol.    The next day I received a call to schedule a phone interview, then we received an in-person interview in Chicago late Oct.  The first week in Nov. we received emails with an offer letter.  At that point we began the long process of getting ready; preparing our house to rent out, selling 2 vehicles, strategically saving money (we won't be paid for almost 5 weeks once we get there).   As most of you know, I own a business, A+ Educational Services, I had to decide if I wanted to keep the business open or shut it down, I finally decided to inactivate it for the next 2.5 years.  Funny thing is once I made peace with not continuing the business I received 5 phone calls asking for a tutor, really?  As much as it hurt me to not have those clients, I knew it was best to refer them to my ex-tutors, who were more than happy to tutor without me as the "middle man".

As I end this first post I must stress to you that I AM NOT A WRITER! I will try my best to be grammatically correct (well maybe not- too much like school), but please be patient with me as I attempt to take you on this journey with us.  Remember, I teach Science, not English- lol.
